Scholarships and Refunds

This question continues to keep coming up……………

All cadets who applied for Basic, ATS or Comms were eligible for the $45 discount/scholarship due to low enrollment numbers.  Those cadets who paid the full amount will be refunded the $45.  See the post on 04 July below for details on when and how this process will take place.

Day one for Cadet Staff

Today begins day 1 for Cadet Staff.  All arrived last night and got introduced to one another.  Staff intros, formalization with the IMA and team building are tops on the list.  The rest of the Senior Staff will arrive today as well and begin to make ready for the arrival of the cadets on Saturday.

Remember Basic, ATS and Comms report time 1300-1500 hrs, in your BDU uniform.

Packing List

Here is a link to the Packing List for Cadets at the encampment.  Packing List

An 18 inch ruler can be made by taking a yard stick and cutting it off.  This question has come up several times.

Also bed linens will be provided at the encampment.  There is no need to bring bed sheets and pillow cases, and they are not on the packing list.

Uniforms, ID’s and Hair Cuts

ALL

Remember that you must have your CAP ID card on you at all times during the Encampment.  Make sure you have your CAP ID on you when you report to the Base.

Make sure you have all your uniform items prior to arrival at Camp Lincoln.  There is no place to purchase uniforms or uniform items on the base on in Springfield.

Also make sure you are in Grooming Standards, including hair length for both male and female, before you get to the Encampment.  Cadets who do not meet the Grooming Standard will not be allowed to stay at the Encampment.

Encampment Location

The Summer Encampment will be conducted at the Illinois Military Academy (IMA), Camp Lincoln, Springfield, Illinois.  A map is located under the Camp Lincoln tab on this website.

Camp Lincoln is where cadets will report on 10 July and be there until 17 July for the Pass and Review.

The Pass and Review will be at Camp Lincoln near the IMA on 17 July.  More details will be posted next week.

Cadets will be dismissed from the encampment on 17 July after the Pass and Review at approximately 11:00 am.  Please insure that if your not attending the Pass and Review that you have made arrangement for your cadet to get home after the Pass and Review.

ALL non CAP Encampment Staff must be off base by 1:oo PM.

DO NOT come to the Benton, Illinois address, there is nothing there CAP related.

5.  Safety Forms:  BASIC, ATS and COMMS:  if you have them filled out, hand carry them to the encampment.  WE WILL DO BASIC ORM at the beginning of the encampment.

Refunds

I have fielded a few questions on refunds so here is the scoop.

We will begin to process refunds the week of Encampment.  Processing refunds requires the Finance Committee to push paperwork on each refund.  Once that paperwork is done checks can be issued.  Checks should start being sent out the week of 26 July.  Do not expect to get a check before that date.  We will be working as fast as we can to get this done along with all the other paperwork that goes along with encampment.  Please bear with us as we get this done, we have a lot of paperwork and checks to process.

Thanks.
